Our mission

At Mighty Oaks we believe through technology we can help our customers communicate, collaborate and innovate.  For us technology really has to be easy to use, secure and dependable.  Since 2002, our two operating divisions have focused on creating solutions to our customers’ problems and providing operational excellence. 

Mighty Oaks was established in 2002 and has been focused on creating innovative and highly customised solutions.  Today we operate in three different divisions:  

  • Mighty Oaks is the developers of Mighty+ our omni-channel grocery and logistics platform used by mid-size food retailers in North America.
  • OMNION that imports and distributes smart ambient and chilled last-mile delivery lockers.  We work closely with our hardware partners American Locker and Hussmann (a Panasonic Company), to create integrated solutions.
  • Meewasin provides the CedarBox GIS platform and custom software solutions.  CedarBox is used by first nations comunite to review and understanding the impact of development on the environment and their history.

Our software development teams are based in Victoria and Vancouver BC.

  • We don't outsource development.  In fact that has been a critical factor in our sucess.  Our support customers across the Americas from our west coast base.
  • Our platforms have impact.  We are helping regional and major retailers compete in a changing world.  Our GIS solutions are helping comunities make informed decisions on natural resources projects, balancing the needs of the environment with economic growth.

What we offer is the change to be part of a small team of 15-20 people that believes in collocation, innovation, quality and the chance to have a real impact in shaping the products and services we offer.  We like to keep our teams slow and empower our teams to own the roadmaps to their products.

Both our software teams are based in Victoria, and Vancouver BC.  We also have team members based in Toronto and Ottawa.

Customer Support

As part of our customer support team you will provide call center support to our customers based in the Americas.  As we support customers in Canada, US and Latin America a working knoweldge of English plus either French or Spanish is a strong asset.  A technical bakground is also strong asset. 

Software Developer - Full Stack django/python

An empty software developer desk at Mighty Oaks officesWe are looking at growing our software development team.  As part of our software solutions team you will work on Mighty+ our omni-channel platform targeting the food supply chain.  Used in e-commerce and logistics applications our platform empowers traditional grocery store operators and wholesales to offer solutions that bring the online and in-store consumer experience together.  Our platform manages the entire online ordering, and picking process.  Mighty+ also schedules and dispatches our customers delivery vehicles.  Our software runs in the cloud and is also embedded in onboard tablets and in last-mile smart locker technology. 

Since you would be working directly with our customers to understand their needs and tailor solutions, you will require great interpersonal and system analysis skills.  You should have demonstrated expertise in creating innovative software.  A BSc in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience is required.  You must be based in Victoria or Vancouver BC.

Project Co-ordinator

The goal of our project co-ordinator is to setup our project team for success.  Working closely with: (1) project leads, (2) our product development team and (3) operations team the project co-ordinator is responsible for handling administrative support functions. 

Duties of a project co-ordinator include:

  • Supporting project leads in developing project plans, budgets and schedules;
  • Following project plans: preparing purchase orders, invoices and receiving reports;
  • Fielding and routing customer questions and support requests; and
  • Assist in preparing SOP and supporting documentation.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience delivering administrative support functions in an engineering or software development environment.   Good working knowledge of Office 365 is essential.  Experience with Quicbooks, Project Management Software and SoftExpert QA software is an asset.  To support our customers across the Americas a working knowledge of either French or Spanish is a strong asset.
